Walks in the country are nice aren't they? But you know what's missing from the average trek? Llamas.....obviously.

Well fear not, because here is one of the most bizarre animal experiences we've come across so far - the llama trekking experience. We've found two seperate llama experiences. One in Northamptonshire from Red Letter Days and one in Devon from Buyagift.

Red Letter Days offer the NORTHAMPTONSHIRE experience for 1, 2 and 4 people, as well as a family experience. Click here for more information
The experience in DEVON comes with a delicious cream tea at the halfway point

Llamas - what are they? Well they're like a cross between a small camel, a horse and a sheep. That's what we think anyway. They originate from South America and they're familiar with walking cross country in the Andes.

Everyone usually gets their own llama, (unless they're really busy) but you don't ride them because they're not that big. Instead they walk alongside you - like a dog, but 6 feet tall and with a funny puzzled face. They might carry your bags if you're lucky...

If you choose the Red Letter Days experience you even can choose to trek with a donkey instead of a llama if you let them know when booking. These llama experiences last for around 2 hours. Lunch is not included but you can bring a picnic.
